Natural Hair Care While Taking A Break From Your Hair Extensions

Posted by M. Brown on

When in between wearing hair extensions, it's important to find a hair stylist who knows how to cater to your natural hair. You want a hair stylist that is not only knowledgeable on how to treat and handle your specific hair type but who is also knowledgeable about the products that they use. This means the avoidance of products that contain harsh ingredients such as sulfates, parabens, alcohol and silicone among others which often appear in a number of hair products like shampoo and conditioners.

Not only do you want to focus on the strands of hair but you also want to make sure that you are nourishing your scalp by in-taking the proper vitamins, applying essential oils and finding products that contain biotin. There are a number of oil options available for the hair each with a number of benefits such as argon oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, tea tree oil and more.

Also make sure that you are cleaning and washing your hair and scalp according to your own personal needs. If your hair gets oily and build up more quickly than others, you may find that you have to wash your hair sooner than someone who washes their hair every three weeks. You should include deep conditions and/or hot oil treatments as well when you wash your hair to keep it at its best. Dry shampoos is also a great product to look into when you are not able to do your traditional wash, however whether using a dry shampoo or traditional method you want to use products that do not contain harsh ingredients as mentioned earlier.

Finally when it's time for you to install your hair extensions again you want to make sure your stylist knows how to properly install the hair that you provide. Proper hair installation serves as a great protective style for your natural hair but improper installation of your extensions can cause damage to your hair and scalp. There are many different types of extensions and a number of installation methods that accompanies them so make sure that your stylist is experienced with the method that you are seeking and are able to confidently answer any questions that you may have.

These are just a few tips to ensure that your natural hair is always at its best even when your not wearing hair extensions.
